Enjoy a day of impressive estates and spectacular gardens with the Berks History Center!
The du Ponts in the Brandywine Valley made their names known in the world of horticulture and preservation, especially Alfred I. du Pont of Nemours and Lammot du Pont Copeland at Mt. Cuba Center.
During this day-long excursion, participants will first visit Nemours Estate, a masterpiece of Gilded Age design with a 77-room mansion and 200-acres of formal French gardens in Wilmington, DE.
Next, visit the Mt. Cuba Center, a colonial revival style house and land that was transformed into a lush botanical garden featuring some of the region’s most beautiful native plants.
In a private reception room at Mt. Cuba Center, we will enjoy together the Rosebud Assorted Sandwich Buffet Luncheon, along with a salad, chips, dessert and iced tea.
