The newly renovated Trades to Industry Room, with displays on agriculture, food, textile, and iron production in Berks County.
This exhibit explores the many industries that made Berks County what it is today. As you explore the four alcoves that include agriculture, foods, textiles, and iron and steel, you will learn more about the unique history of this area. In the late-nineteenth Century, the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad was the largest company in the world, establishing this area as an industrial, commercial and transportation center.
BHC’s new Trades to Industry exhibit was made possible by the support of the Fehr Family, the William F. Price Foundation, HSBC Auxiliary and Phoenixx Design.
