It is a bittersweet time at BHC as our team says farewell to two of our beloved staff members. Both BHC Administrative Assistant, Elise Duffy, and BHC Membership and Financial Administrator, Amy Smith, will be retiring after years of service with Berks History Center. Please help us thank them for all their hard work and wish them the best!
BHC members and guests have been greeted by Elise Duffy in-person and via phone for the past six years. As BHC’s Administrative Assistant, Elise has supported every facet of BHC’s daily operations including event management, member relations, facility maintenance and staff support.
Amy Smith has been BHC’s Membership and Financial Administrator for the past nineteen years. During her tenure, Amy has managed staff payroll, the annual budget, membership enrollment, and donation processing and reporting.
The BHC is indebted to Elise and Amy for their years of devoted service. Our staff will sorely miss them, as we have all treasured and benefitted from their kindness, support, and commitment.
As we sadly say goodbye to Elise and Amy, BHC is thrilled to welcome its newest staff member, Marta Notarianni, as BHC’s Business Operations Manager. In her new role, Marta will manage daily business operations, including financial administration, office administration, the gift shop, membership administration, facilities maintenance, guest services, event planning, and volunteer coordination.
Before joining BHC, Notarianni spent over 20 years working in the food and restaurant industry where she gained valuable skills in planning, organizing, and oversight of business practices. Most recently, she worked in Operations Management for the Fearless Restaurant Group led by restaurateur Marty Grims.
Notarianni’s notable accomplishments include performing Operations Management consulting work with an international client base, being a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and being a member of the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers.
