In 1915, the Justice Bell travelled on a flatbed truck to all 67 counties in the state of Pennsylvania with its clapper stabilized, not to ring until women were given the right to vote. This year, on the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, the Justice Bell will ring loudly when it is at the Berks History Center.
Discover the untold story of how a bronze bell became a celebrated symbol of the Woman’s Suffrage Movement with Justice Bell Foundation Director, Amanda Owen, during a special Saturday program. Click here to read more about how and why the Justice Bell is visiting Berks County.
