Drive and discover Berks County history! Berks History Center invites you, your family, and friends to participate in our Fall 2023 Road Ramble on Saturday, October 21st. Previous Road Rambles have attracted more than 300 attendees! Come join the fun for this full-day multi-generational adventure.

The Road Ramble is a self-guided driving tour where participants will learn little-known facts about the makeup of Berks County from the convenience and comfort of their own vehicle. This event is a nod to the past, when Mystery Road Rambles were held in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Hop in the car with the whole family and ramble through Leesport, Moselem Springs, Virginville, and Kutztown. This year’s route highlights a blend of historic structures, scenic vistas, locations associated with local folklore and notable sites such as Crystal Cave, Deerfoot Vineyards and Winery, Ontelaunee Lake, Kutztown Area Historical Society, Dunkels Church, Dreibelbis Farm, and the Berks Graffiti Bridge.

The Fall 2023 Road Ramble will run from 10 AM – 4 PM. It will begin in Leesport, PA and conclude at the PA German Cultural Heritage Center located in Kutztown, PA.

Event participants will receive a Fall 2023 Road Ramble Packet including a Road Ramble Tour Booklet, a narrative CD or USB, a Berks History Center Fall 2023 Road Ramble Participant bumper sticker, and more!

Road Ramble Packets can be picked up ahead of the event inside BHC’s Historical Society Museum beginning Wednesday, October 11, 2023 during their hours of operation, Wednesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 3 PM. Participants can also pick up their packet the day of the event, October 21, 2023, beginning at 10 AM at the ramble starting point location, Schuylkill Valley Middle/High School, 929 Lakeshore Drive, Leesport, PA 19533.. For questions, please call 610-375-4375.
