Tony

This outer row standing horse with fleur de lis ornamented trappings is what is known to carousel historians and carving collectors as a “thoroughbred.” Dentzel carousels typically had four to six of these majestic horses on the outer row. This horse has been named, Tony, and can be seen immediately standing in place in front of the chariot on one of the photographs of the carousel in Carsonia Park. Photograph by Chris K.
