On December 12, 1922, fourteen individuals of musical background petitioned the Berks County Court of Common Pleas for the incorporation of a new town band. Two months later, on February 5, 1923, the Wyomissing Band, Inc. of Wyomissing, PA was founded. For the past 100 years, the band has provided an outlet for musicians to come together in a positive way – together, they make music that the community of Wyomissing continues to be proud of.
The Berks History Center, in collaboration with the Wyomissing Band, is pleased to present a brand-new exhibit to celebrate their many accomplishments over the last century. It will open to the public on Wednesday, February 15th and will close August 15th, 2023. More details coming soon, so stay tuned!
